Nostalgia is an extremely complex aspect of human emotion. It’s not simply a case of remembering the past or limited to the concept of homesickness. It can be defined in many ways - a longing for the past, a sentimental recollection, a mixed feeling of happiness and sadness. Ultimately, each time we access an old memory we create a new copy of that memory - the scenery in our memories tend to drift away from reality and make imaginary scenes dreamt by the subconscious, according to our emotion at the moment. Through these photographs I approach the phenomenon of nostalgia as an emotion, something vague, indefinite or never existent.
